👨‍🍳 Cogydd – Chef
As we look ahead to the Worldchefs Congress & Expo 2026, this week’s Welsh word is “Cogydd” meaning “Chef.”

It’s pronounced “cog-ith” (with the soft “dd” sounding a little like “th” in “this”). A simple word that carries so much respect—for the craft, the creativity, and the passion that chefs bring to the table every day.

Want to go a step further? Add “pen” in front to say “Pen-cogydd” – Head Chef.

Here in Wales, food is at the heart of our culture, from field to fork, from farm to feast. So this week, we celebrate the Cogyddion (Chefs) who make it all happen.

So, say it with us this #WelshWednesday: Cogydd!
